Various ballet competitions are offered across the country for young students to unite and display their talent. The D.C. metro area lacks a large, ballet competition, thus preventing many students who may not have the means to travel an opportunity to compete. The Classical Ballet Theatre of Maryland, the official 501(c)3 non profit, which oversees the Washington D.C Grand Prix exists to give all students in the USA the chance to receive world-class ballet training and education, and also to receive scholarships from world-class schools and companies. It is through that effort of bringing ballet to all that we founded the Washington D.C. Grand Prix. The mission of The Washington DC Grand Prix is “To create an inclusive space in the Washington D.C. area where students and young dancers from across the globe can join together to display their artistic talent and compete among each other”. All donations are used to develop the competition around the country and towards the awards presented at our competition.
